Central Arkansas AGA Chapter
Noon meetings are held eight times during
the year on the third Monday of the month and consist of a luncheon
followed by a brief business session and guest speaker. Being
educational in nature, each meeting provides attending members with an
hour of continuing professional educational credit (CPE). The chapter
strives to contribute to the community as well as to its members.
Annually the chapter sponsors an accounting scholarship at UALR,
provides volunteer income tax assistance under the VITA program,
provides educational opportunities to its members with 2 full-day
seminars, and supports worthy community service projects. The annual
awards banquet is held each June to honor the Financial Manager of the
Year and chapter members who have made significant contributions during
the year. In December the holidays are celebrated with a social event.
The Arkansas State Board of Public
Accountancy has recognized the Association as a CPE Provider exempt from
registration with the Board. Our meetings and seminars qualify as CPE
for CGFM's and Arkansas CPA's and do not require advance approval by the
Board.
