Welcome to the Central Arkansas AGA Chapter Site.
With over 200 members in the local chapter, we encourage you to look around and learn more about the AGA on both a national and local level.

About the AGA
Almost 17,000 highly motivated professionals responsible for managing billions of dollars at the federal, state and municipal levels of government comprise the AGA, headquartered in Arlington, Virginia.

Since 1950, the Association of Government Accountants has been -- and remains today -- the educational organization dedicated to the enhancement of public financial management. Membership in AGA is open to everyone whose career, studies, or interests involve government financial management. AGA members form a diverse group of individuals, from students to entry-level employees to senior managers, who work for: local and state governments, school districts and retirement systems, colleges and universities, federal agencies, and public accounting firms.

Continuing Professional Education-- AGA sponsors comprehensive programs that allow participants to earn needed CPE. AGA's conferences offer as many as 32 CPE credits, and additional CPE options include regional and chapter events.

Current Financial Management Information -- Stay informed with AGA's periodicals, the Government Accountants Journal and Government Financial Management TOPICS, as well as task force reports on current issues.

Certified Government Financial Manager designation -- The foundation for the AGA's professional designation is a combination of education, experience, and examination requirements. Successful CGFM applicants must also agree to abide by a Code of Ethics. For more information regarding the CGFM exam, visit the National website.

Networking opportunities-- The local AGA chapters put you in contact with other government financial management professionals in your area and allow you to participate in local educational seminars, business meetings, and social events with other professionals.
